Engine: 350 LT1
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 3.70
700r4 problem, can't downshift manually
I just bought a 90 gta with the 700r4. I have noticed when driving that if I try and manually downshift it wont go into gear, it acts like its in neutral. If I slow down or stop it will go into gear no problem.
Anyone know what would cause this? I'm thinking it is probably time for a rebuild.

You have lost the overrun clutch, sprag, or you have broken the hub. Transmission has to be removed to solve this. To keep it alive for awhile, leave it in "OD".
