Who has the strongest 700r4 and what did you use? Mine is made to handle 600 +hp and i have lost 3-4 gear and i need a new valve body. i have seen the raptor 700r4 handles 700hp but anything beyond that?

Re: Strongest 700r4

Thats the legendary question. G-men transmissions came up to me with a 650hp application. I'm still pondering the solution too. Supercharged 383, needs a stout trans. Who built yours and what parts? Good to know for others.

i dont know the exact specs but i know i have a billet servo, superior shift kit, 8 heavy duty clutches vs. 6 on a stock trans. aluminum trans pan and a 12'' edge 2600 convertor. i know i need to switch to a 9.5 convertor it would help.

Re: Strongest 700r4

I took my 700r and just rbuilt it to a T56 6 speed, involved no work at all

I dont prefer an auto on the street, but i thought i seen Art Carr selling them advertised for 850 HP, is that guy full of it too?

Re: Strongest 700r4

They can be built to with stand cars up to a max of about 800 rwhp of course that number is subjective with variables such as weight and rear rations type and stall converter used and general way the trans is treated. We have camaros in the low tens and twin turbo GTOs and countless people running big shots on them and they are holding up well .
