4L60E 4-3 and 3-2 downshift flare
4L60E 4-3 and 3-2 downshift flare
For a while now my transmission has had a flare in rpms during the 3-2 kickdown and just recently I noticed its doing it on the 4-3 kickdown as well. It will only do it when either the cruise is on and opens the throttle enough to make it kick down, or when I push the peddle down far enough to make it kick down. I can shift it manually on the column and it shifts quick and firm just as it should. When it does a 4-3 kickdown its just a smooth transition into 3rd and the rpms slowly rise to about 4000 rpms then slowly come back down, top the hill and it quickly and firmly shifts back to 4th. When the band is applied it is holding fine, no slippage, but for whatever reason it doesn't seem to be applying the band hard enough during the kick downs. Any ideas on what this might be or where to start checking things first? Fluid was changed about 10k miles ago and a bottle of Lucas trans additive was added then. Never had any issues with the trans up until this point. Its in a 95 chevy truck if that matters.
