3rd gear flare up

Transmission: glide
Axle/Gears: moser 12 bolt spool 4.11
3rd gear flare up
car flares into third gear at wot. but not all the time. and it also depends on if i just pull the shifter or if i slam it. ive got a reverse manual valvebody, and a megashifter. ive been told that my cable is worn out and its not fully engaging the gears. do i need a new cable?

3rd gear flare sounds like the clutch packs are worn.

it was built by fti. i would say the clutchs are worn but it doesnt do it everytime. and the trans has less then 1000 miles on it. i pulled the cable out today and it feels like it has a bad spot in it. putting a new one in tommorow.
