OK guys...I need some imput...
Ok....I am still in my break-in process with my motor. It has the "G" rating tune on it(it is a bit rich, but as the engine breaks in it keeps getting leaner). With this tune I am at 287HP and 300TQ. I am noticing that when warmed up, and in gear the car wants to do nothing but shift. Its RPM's are at 800-850 and once I take my foot off the brake the car goes, it softly shifts itself and by the time I have coasted up to 15MPH I'm in 3rd gear already
I have been told my converter is too tight...it is still original. The 700R-4 has been gone through, new clutch packs, vette servos, wider bands, B&M shift kit-but the converter untouched.
My question is....OK I need a converter but......what one would fit me best. From experience I have seen friends do nothing but wrong selecting a converter...either the stall is too high or after replacement there is a constant "tranny fluid" smell.
