Switching to a 12 bolt

I want to upgrade to a 12 bolt from my current 9 bolt rear. I know that the brakes are not a direct bolt in for the 12 bolt, so what do i need to do and get to make my 9 bolt rear disc brakes to work

Re: Switching to a 12 bolt

Strange and Moser both make 12-bolt setups designed for the 3rdgen F-bodies. Mosers have lots of options when ordering to set it up how you want, and I'm sure Strange does as well.

Re: Switching to a 12 bolt

i have a moser.....with 9" big ford bearing housing ends......you can use the stock 9 bolt break setup, but you have to redrill the backing plate to fit on the housing end and use a shim for the bearing retainer......its not that hard to do.

Re: Switching to a 12 bolt

Why not convert the rear end to use 4thgen disc brakes? The components aren't expensive, and it seems like a pretty popular upgrade to these cars when you upgrade to a 12-bolt or 9" rear end. Moser can sell you a housing and the brackets to make the 4thgen discs a bolt-on deal. They work well too.
