another 700r4 question
I have recently picked up a 91 v6 bird with a 700r4,and when I put it in drive it doesn't move.
If I move the shifter all the way down to first it will then move and it also has reverse.
I have another good trans. in my garage that I could replace it with, but I was just wondering if someone that knows these trannys well, could tell me if there is something I could replace in it instead of having to remove the trans. itself.Yeah,I'm looking for an easy way out.

Re: another 700r4 question
Anyone?
Wheres the tranny gurus at?
Could it possibly be the pump or something else internal that I could swap with my good transmission instead of replacing the bad one in the car?
I know that someone has to know what the problem is.

Guess where the pump is, and what you have to do to replace it.
Yup, remove the tranny.
If you have a good one you can put in, that's the easiest possible fix.

Re: another 700r4 question
Check the pan bolts that hold the shift cable/bracket in place. I have seen them loosen up and cause the same symptoms.
