700r4 trans 40mph gear hunting fix.
Just thought I'd share this. I used this part in my old Corvette and it worked great. If you're driving at in town speeds (38-45 mph) you may notice that the 700r4 trans can't seem to decide if it wants to be in 3rd or 4th gear. Every F body with this transmission I have ever owned has done this and it does get annoying. The part I installed is a shift control harness from Mid America Motorworks part #603-707. It's a switch with micro-electronic circuitry that prevents torque converter lock-up untill the car reaches a higher speed. There are two varieties available:in car or undercar. I use the in car one that taps into wiring under the steering column and takes about and hour or so to install. It comes with good instuctions and if you can solder and run a little wire you're good to go. I was unaware of this product with all of the F-body cars I had owned untill I bought the Vette and started receiving Vette part catalogs. I never saw it advertised anywhere else. For 30 bucks it's definetly worth it.
