Clutch is slipping
Clutch is slipping
I just mated my 350 to a t-5 and installed it in my car. I can rotate the rear wheels when its in gear. It engages enough to drive around but slips enough not to lock up ever.
Secondly my slave cylinder extends the rod a little bit but the clutch never disengages, could this be air since I just changed the slave cylinder or something installed wrong?

Re: Clutch is slipping
whats the condition of the clutch and pressure plate. New, used?
how did you install the throw out bearing? Like the top pic or the bottom?

did the trans slid all the way together when you assembled it of did you have to pull it together with the bolts?

Clutch and pressure plate are brand new. I cant recall how I installed the throw out bearing but my shop teacher said "thats the right way"
I had to pull it together with bolts.
I bled it a couple more times and there is pressure in the clutch pedal now, and the rod moves a little in the slave cylinder. But the rear wheels still wont spin.
Edit: And sometihng must have seated, because it doesnt slip anymore, just wont disengage.

I bled it a dozen times today, it disengages *slightly*. Tomorrow I'll measure how far it moves (I think specs are at least .56") and if it moves enough, I'll make a longer pushrod for it, if it doesnt, I guess I gotta pull tranny

if you had to pull the trans together with the bolts, you may have f-ed up the clutch disc. The trans should slip right in with no problems. Your probably going to have to bite the bullet and drop the trans check everything and try again.
