I am wondering what RPM the 5.7L TPI 350 with 700r4 should be the first shift at when you gently press the gas down from a dead stop.

I used to shift around 2500 but was told it should be around 4500 (near the orange line). I installed the TV Shift Corrector spring and now it's shifting at 4500 and sometimes 5000. Is this OK? Will any damage be done to the engine or tranny?

I have a shiftkit installed so the shifts are REALLY HARD!

Thanks

around 4500. That's from a dead stop and lightly pressing the gas pedal down until it makes it's first shift. I have a skift kit and was set for a later shift.

Thats messed up. I have at least a dozen upgraded parts in my 700R4. It shifts hard under part throttle but not at 4500 rpm (shift VIOLENTLY under WOT!)

Yeah, just gently. Like I said I am using a TV Cable Shift Corrector Spring which bumps the shifts up higher from 2500 (which was told WAY too low) to 4500 (Which was told you should performance wise be shifting higher up in the RPM before redline (orange).
