T56 Question
I am putting in a t56 out of a 1994 trans am into my 1992 camaro, I have everything, tranny, shifter, clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, custom crossmember. I pulled 5 speed pedals out of a 1992 firebird, and I also pulled the clutch slave cylinder... I was wondering if these pedals and cylinder assembly will work with my t56?

Re: T56 Question
I am running a T56 with my factory T5 pedals and the T56 slave setup. They have been working fine since 2001.

Re: T56 Question
I've heard of people having problems when running 3rd gen pedals with a t-56 mainly when there car wasn't original t-5 cars.
I have 4th gen pedals and everything is very smooth.

Re: T56 Question
I have 3rd gen pedals and it works, but it's not quite right.
I'd strongly recommend getting 4th gen ones, since you're starting from scratch and have to change them out [anyway. No sense in doing it once, discovering it's not real good, and then having to do it again.
If I ever have mine out again, 4th gens are going back in instead.

Re: T56 Question
You can use 3rd gen pedals but not the hydralics. You need to use the 4th gen hydraulics.
I had some alignment issuses with the 4th gen pedals so I used the 3rd gen setup without and problems.

Re: T56 Question
Another thing to make note of. When you use the 4th gen pedals, you have to cut off the accelerator pedal portion of them. It's part of the pedal assembly on the 4th gens instead of separate like the 3rd gens. Super easy to do from what I've read on here.

Re: T56 Question
Ok... I took the majority of peoples word on the fourth gen pedals. So I got some fourth gen pedals now... Can I use my thirdgen clutch slave/master cylinder with the fourth gen pedals because I don't have the fourth gen clutch slave/master cylinder yet...

Re: T56 Question
Need to get the master/slave setup according to the tranny... for your '94 gearbox, you'll need hydraulics for a 93-97. Theoretically, you could get a longer hydraulic line for your master/slave setup you have, but that's no guarantee that the slave cylinder will bolt up to the bracket on the bell housing, or that the piston in the slave will move far enough to disengage the clutch... The sure shot is to get the whole thing from GM parts direct or other reputable retailer.

Re: T56 Question
Not sure if any other hydraulics will have problems but i used a mcleod adjustable master cylinder with my setup and it wouldnt fit onto the 3rd gen pedals. So i had to use 4th gen pedals. Very easy just cut off the gas pedal and enlarged 2 holes i think and it fit right in. The pedals sit a little different then a 3rd gen. Try to pick up some hydraulics that use a braided hose instead of the brittle plastic hose.
