need help verifying axle code

The axle code says "6 HJC 134 1"...Ive searched this site and a lot of places on the net, but of the 6 places that I saw a list of axle codes two of them said that this is a standard rear end and not posi. I was wondering if anyone can help. Its about a 1 hour drive to get the rear end, and the seller doesnt have the capability to pull the cover off. Id hate to drive that far and find out its a non posi. Thanks.

Re: need help verifying axle code

To be honest I think you got one to many letters it's 6HJ or maybe 6HQ not sure wich one it is, but if it's the original gears in there it's 3.23 posi=limited slip, same thing. The problem is you never know if it's the original gears or if they have been changed by someone. The best thing to do is pull the cover off and take a look inside.Like you said it's an hour drive so it's really up to you to decide if you want to take the chance of it been the original gears or not.Hope this helps, good luck.
