Can the wrong speedo gear combo cause kickdown issues? I have noticed at speeds around 45-60 it won't kick down into second. I can pull it into second and still have alot of RPM before a shift point.
My speedo is about 20 mph off i.e. it reads 60 when I am doing 40. Trans locks up on time though.
I just haven't had time to take the tailshaft off and put in the correct drive gear.

Re: Can the wrong speedo gear cause.....

No.

Kickdown is entirely mechanical & hydraulic. No electronic function involved at all.
