shifting problems on rebuilt 700r4..valve body?
I recently had a friends uncle (mechanic for 35 years) rebuild my 700r4 with this kit http://racetransmissions.com/store/p...roducts_id/402 and the springs were replaced with a little heavier ones... My trans is shifting early, sometimes when it downshifts at part throttle it will buck a little, and it seems to bog down...I installed the sonnax spring wich definetly helped but didnt cure it.. would a transgo shift kit solve these probs...ps when in D 3-2 downshifts clunk hard but in OD it shifts fine???? thank you

Which springs were replaced with heavier ones? If it was the governor springs?, put the original ones back. If you do not have them, there will be two springs in the governor, take out the weakest spring in the governor now, leave in the heavier one and see what happens. This will make for later part throttle shifts, and easier downshifts. Most likely you will have to reset the TV cable.

His uncle told me it was the shift springs.. 1-2..2-3..3-4.. this trans was out of a parts car I bought and when he tore it apart the clutch basket gear on back was sheared off and all those springs were broke in half...someone beat the &*$^ out of it..Ill read some posts to find out were the governer is and try and check for the original or a dual spring...thanks
