My Dad and I swapped a different steering column into my car and now it won't shift out of Park. It starts fine but the shifter won't move. (My Firebird is an 85, the new column came from an 86 T/A.)

Is it the Park/lock thing on the column?
If it is... How do you adjust it?

the shift intent cable may be the trouble it hooks to the igniotion switch on top of the column to the shifter, you can unhook it from the shifter and it should work.
