measuring for adjustable TO bearing

i have a aftermarket T56 using a lakewood scattershield and running Mcleod Street twin clutch. I purchased Mcleod's adjustable TO bearing that has three shims with the kit. I need to know how and what to measure in order to find out what the correct amount of shims i need to put in the adjustable throw out bearing. Thanks
