I am thinking about getting a 84 Z28, the question about the auto transmission... The Z28 I am looking into is auto, and I know the auto trannys aren't built to handle that much power, especially in the newer import car (I have more experience with the Mazda Proteges)

Can the auto tranny handle up to 350+ HP? or am I better off looking for a manual tranmission..

PS: I am quite new to muscle cars, I have always been into imports...

 

Honestly the 700R4 and or TH350's are able to hold decent amounts of torque. The T-5 manual tranny's are known for not being able to hold all that much which dissapoints me ::shrug::. I'd honestly stick to the tranny that's in the car for now and IF you wanted to get a manual tranny later I'd get a super T10 4 spd. That's just my two cents though.
