TCI convertor going bad?
I installed a TCI convertor in my 700r4 when I had it rebuilt. Don't remember which one, but max stall behind my mild 350 is about 2300rpm or so (that's when it over-powers the rear brakes). Over the last week, I started hearing a funny noise after starting the car and putting it in reverse or drive. Now I sometimes hear the same noise as I'm coming to a stop. The noise is hard to describe, it only happens for a second or two. It kind of sounds like there is a plastic tag or something flapping around.
Anyone ever have this problem? This convertor cost me nearly $400 and it has less than 2000 miles on it. Could it be something else?

Re: TCI convertor going bad?
UPDATE:
I was wrong about the milage on the convertor, it's more like 3000-4000 miles. At any rate, I'm pretty sure the thing just died on my way home from work tonight. It acts pretty much like when the last convertor failed, except for lock-up still works on this one. And when I try to leave from a stop, the car shakes pretty bad and doesn't like to roll. Fluid is full and still looks/smells new.
Any recommendations on where to get a good (read: strong) convertor?

Re: TCI convertor going bad?
After talking to some people, apparently the convertors like what I bought don't usually last very long in a car that sees mostly street time. Anyway, there is a company that will custom build a 9inch convertor for me for around $800. I think i'm going to go that route.
