I have a 4500 stall converter and a th350 coupled to a 14.5 to 1 377 (400 with 350 crank) estimated hp a 625...is the stock rearend rebuild with richmond gears 5.14 strong enough to handle 4500 rpm launches??

not a chance, probably wont survive the first launch unless you have less than no traction

Re: Is 7.5 strong enough?
First of all you won't find any gears deeper than 4.56 for the 7.5" 10 bolt.
I was running a beefed up 10 bolt with 4.10 gears deep into the 11's. When I installed a transmission with a transbrake, I also switched to a 9" at the same time because I knew the 10 bolt wouldn't have survived.
Stock 10 bolts have been broken on the street with factory engines. Trying to make it survive on the dragstrip is a dice roll. Sometimes it will but most of the time it won't. No matter what you try to do to make it stronger, the tiny ring and pinion will always be the weak link.
You're going to need a 9" or a 12 bolt to handle that power.

I usually run 11.5 wide slicks in my 79 camaro eith 8lbs of air pressure...maybe ill save up for a while for the strange 12 bolt...

Your 79 probably has a 8.5" 10 bolt. Almost the same strength as a 12 bolt.
