Can a stock clutch in a 91 RS w/305 be adjusted?

Recently purchased a 91 RS w/305 and 5-speed transmission. Car shifts ok but the clutch engagement seems odd to me. I only have to depress the clutch an inch for it to disengage and allow me to change gears and then release it to re-engage. There is very little play or feel when shifting into each gear especially starting off in first. Is it just a matter of me getting used to this particular clutch or is there something a little of that could use adjustment. I'm comparing the clutch operation in this car to the clutch operation I had in a previous 94 Z28 with a T-56 and the current cars in my sig. Thanks for any input.

I asked the same question a couple days ago, and it looks like the clutch fork or pivot ball can be adjusted. I haven't crawled under the car and tried yet though. I have the opposite problem though, my clutch doesn't disengage until like 2" from the floor. How old is your clutch? Engagement at the top of the pedal could be a sign of a worn clutch, as it wears it gets higher up on the pedal.

I have no idea how old the clutch is. Another RS I drove with the same mileage a few weeks back had a new clutch and drove almost like this one. I've tried to get the clutch to slip to see if it's on it's way out but I holds just fine and engages smoothly. It's just hard to get a feel for the engagement. Maybe someone else will chime in with some answers.

Hi, I had the same issue and decided to change the clutch.
The clutch needed changing but when completed the pedal still felt off, to high. I'll tell you what I did was remove the clutch slave cylinder from the bell housing take out the push rod, find a long bolt that that you could push the plunger on the slave cylinder all the way in as far as it will go, slowly let it come back to its static position , I did this 5 times, almost like bleeding the system, anyways it worked, my pedal engage was about 1 to 11/2 inches off the floor, kinda where I like it, and disengages about 1/4 of the pedals downward motion. I have about a 1/2 -3/4 " of free pedal travel before I feel resistance then maybe another 3/4 to an inch" before complete clutch disconect. It kinda sets itself.
