I have just finished putting my 85 700r4 back into my car after a fresh rebuild and i dont have 2nd or 4th gear but i do have reverse and all the othe gears. could this be the servo?
I replaced all the seals on the servo before reinstalling it and would just like someone elses opinion before i go tearing into it. Any help is appreciated .

 

After the rebuild did it ever have 2nd & 4th gears?

 

No,the first time i test drove it after rebuild it just completly skips 2nd so you have to rev it to get it to shift to 3rd then no 4th.

 

There is a good chance that the band is not on the anchor pin. The pan would have to be dropped to see if this is the case. This can possibly could be fixed from the bottom.

 

Ok i droped the pan and it looks as if the pin is seated correctly. The pin looks to be in its bore all the way and i cant really see it on the band but i pushed it with my fingers and it feels like its on it. Any other ideas on what this problem could be.
