well my 700r4 bit the dust, so im swapping in a th350 out of a impala. the 350 doesnt have the torsion bar mounts on the tailshaft and the tranny is 3 inchs shorter. and what about the crossmember?? any input GREATLY appreciated!

 

Easiest way is with a new aftermarket torque arm kit. The new torque arm will come with a proper crossmember and the torque arm will attach to the crossmember instead of the tranny.

If you can find a 82-83 third gen that came with the 200c 3 speed tranny, that driveshaft will fit with the 6" tailshaft TH350. The other option is to find and use a long 9" tailshaft TH350 so that the 700R4 driveshaft will fit.

The cheapest route is to buy a swap kit. It provides an adapter for the tranny mount and an adapter for the torque arm. This is a poor and really cheap way of doing the swap and isn't always recommended.

You'll also need a manifold vacuum source for the modulator valve.

 

where u at i just swapped from 350 back to 700 and my drive shaft its too long wanna swap it is about three inches too long
