I have a 92 borg-warner T-5(closes ratio they made probibly, it was custom rebuilt for the guy who raced it and i could tell had been taken apart at one point in time becuase the seals did not look factory..aka RTV hanging out seems) well anyway their is a mysterious tube that came up out of the passenger side gearbox and seemed to lead nowhere. I checked all the manuels (including GM shop) and none gave me any insight into this mysterious tube. Is this normal? is it just some breather tube or was it supposed to be hooked up to something. Thanks in advance for reading this far and any help you might give.

99% sure that it's a vent tube.

I know my T56 has one.

The vent tube is on top where the extension housing bolts to the main case. If it's coming out from the side, it could just be a custom-made filler tube because it's a major PITA to add fluid to one.
