Tranny Cooked

I have an 88 350 iroc with a TH700r4 tranyy with 111000 miles on it the tranny is the original with a B&M shift kit... I was out for a drive when suddenly I saw a puff of smoke come from the ****er boot and then the rpm`s went thru the roof...My 3rd gear is toast...I shifted the tranny manualy..1st,2nd
is fine but when I shift to 3rd the rpm`s go thru the roof..it wont lock....in overdrive the same thing happens 1,2 is fine then 3rd does the same thing... it won`t lock.....Are my band and clutches fried???
what is the best way to go...
Could I just get 3rd fixed or do I have to rebuild the tranny?????

I don`t want to spend to much...I droped in a new gm crate motor in last year 300hp...I also have a supercharger 7.5 PSI....I was using synthetic tranny fluid this past year..do you think that could have fried it...or is it just wear and tear????

It's fried. Once you get 100,000 miles out of an automatic tranny expect it to be ready to go at anytime, especially if you have it on a strong engine. Don't go trying to get one part fixed, get it all done at once. Even if you do get just one part fixed when you open it up and move stuff around on a tranny with 100k and 13 years something will break quickly again.
