Pulling Bearings & Pinion from 9-bolt?
I'm ready to pull the pinion out of my 9-bolt rear, and once I get it out pull the pearing. Also ready to pull the bearings off the axles.
Anyone have some advice on doing this? Looks like I'll need some special tools. The pinion won't just tap out of the yoke - it's ON there. Axle bearings may not be that bad, but I hadn't tried yet.
Advice sought,
Craig

i put the nut on the pinion and drive it with a brass hammer, you can't reuse the nut anyway so it doesn't matter if you trash it or not. to get the bearing off the pinion i use a bearing seperator and a press. the axle bearings will fall out more or less after you take the seal out of the axle tubes. i use a puller for the bearings on the carrier.
