Vibration and no TCC lockup related?
The TCC hasn't locked up since I got the car running. I have no idea of its history except 123k miles on it. The pan was fairly clean when I put fresh fluid in before driving it. The rest of the drive train seemed well maintained as well.
It has an engine-speed related vibration that gets pretty noticable above 2000 RPM. When you really get on it, it seems to smooth out some but shakes pretty good when you back off while the RPM's are still up. I'd describe the vibration as a combination shake/shutter. Other than that, the tranny works well and hasn't given any problems in 11k+ miles over the last 13 months.
I know the solenoid is getting power. I'm not completely sure the rest of the circuit is working, but I don't have any reason to believe it isn't. It would sure be nice if just changing the torque convertor would cure both the vibration and lockup problem.
Oh, I didn't split the engine and tranny when I did the swap. There was a rattling noise that had gotten worse lately, which went away when I tightened up the torque convertor bolts last night.
