Does anyone know how to run a VSS with a TH350?

I'm thinking of going back with EFI again...

 

Jeg's and JTR have speed sensors that hook up between the speedo cable (at the tranny) and the TH350. They make a direct signal (needs no processing or "buffer") that can be inputted directly to your TBI or TPI ECU. about $80-90 bucks.

Can I do it WITHOUT spending $80 for a JTR VSS?

Can I gut a factory speedometer and just hook up the internal VSS?

Originally my car ('88) had a cable operated VSS in the cluster . As opposed to the electronic VSS on the tranny...
