Gear swap

Ok, im looking to get a gear swap done in 87 TA rear end.First of all its a 10 bolt (im guessin 7.5) does anyone know what gears might be in it? 2.73/3.08? Its not posi.As far as i know its factory.(Ihave only owned the car for a year). What im lookin to do is buy 3.73 gears and posi.Can anyone give an idea of what this is gonna cost me and recommend what i should get?Of course im trying to stay economical here.

there's a code number stamped on the axle tube that'll tell you the gear ratio, or you can run your rpo's on the rpo decoder. if that doesn't work you can always pull the cover and look at what's stamped on the gear set.

As far as prices go:

gears=$200
installation kit=$100
a good posi=$300
installation(unless you do it yourself)=$100-$250+
Total=$700-$850 installed or $600 to do it yourself

just to help u a little more the code is a 3 digit and # code and its stamped on the front passenger side. Its kinda hard to see but spray some WD-40 on it and let it soak for like 15 min. and then brush the crap off with a stiff paint brush. DONT USE A WIRE BRUSH!!!!!. I did and I almost filed off the code. so i hope this helps. post the code here and most likley someone will decode it for ya.
