Set up specs for Auburn Posi unit

I lost the set up specs for an Auburn 3-series posi unit for, 26 splines. Also a friend sold me a 3.42:1 ring and pinion from a 1999 6 speed Z28. The gears fit. Does anyone have the factory set up specs for this combination. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the back lash and pinion depth should be on the gear set. it's differant with every gear set made. not sure what you lost? the torque specs shouldn't be hard to find in most manuals.

Thanks for the information. I now have an '88 Camaro sport coupe with a throttle body FI 305. I also have a 383 stroker that will soon be in it. The current rear end has 2.77:1 rear gears. Does anyone know if the axle has 26 or 28 splines? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

If you have 2.77's then you have the diferent rear. It's not a ten bolt, it's a 9 bolt which I have heard is a pain to get gears for.

'88 is s transition year on the axles. Some of 'em got the 28 splines...some 26. The only way to be sure is to open up the rear-end, pull the c-clip, slide the axle back a bit, turn the wheel and count splines, or just totally remove the axle (you've almost done it anyway.).
