Problem: 4-speed to 5-speed from V-6

Perhaps I should clarify my problem. My driveshaft fits into the tranny but the tranny is positioned too far back for the driveshaft to fit. so I need to know if a V-8 bellhousing from a t-5 is narrower than the 4-speed bellhousing. By narrower I mean the distance from the engine to the tranny.
I searched the old posts and didn't have any luck.

Umm, I dunno, but the V6 T5 has a different number of splines on the input shaft than the v8 T5, if you have a v8 you won't be able to use it.
