hydraulic filled transmission mount?????

hey whats up guys, i got a 1992 v6 camaro rs with a t5 5 speed tranny with a busted tranny mount. well i went down to local repair shop thinkng i was going to pay about 50 bucks to replace my tranny mount like i always have in the past with previously owned vehicles, but, come to find out the tranny mount for this car is a round hydraulic filled tranny mount that can only be ordered from GM only for like 215 bucks(coming from mechanic) which sure enough auto zone, o-reilly's, napa, etc, didnt have the mount....... this is unrealistic for me here. is there a replacment(maybe on the performance side) i could buy to replace that mount that would bolt up without any kind of modification? or maybe someone knows where i can get one of those for a more reasonable price?

Thats werid I found your mount right away. While your there you should ask If the can refill you blinker fluid and replace your muffler bearings. If i were you i would go with the energy suspesion mount.

Re: hydraulic filled transmission mount?????

ok so im back with this again, sadly, i dont have a secondary cross member, so those mounts dont apply to me, and the other energy and poly transmission mounts dont even bolt to my crossmember, theres not even a solid peice of metal so i can even drill and whole and make it work, i gotta have some kind of rare transmission crossmember and mount, seems to me it would be cheaper just to buy another kind of crossmember from junk yard then buy one of those energy mounts or something.

(edit: this is like what i have, after all my maro is a 25th anniversary edition, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CAMAR...=p4506.c0.m245 )

You'll note that the three types of cross members are shown in the link. Swap to one of the other two, with a poly mount, and be done with it.

Re: hydraulic filled transmission mount?????

:-) i knew there was a good reason to making this forum my second home lol i have found the 1 peice x-member on ebay for like 25 bucks, another 25 bucks or so for tranny mount, thats much better figures than what gm is talking, money hungary b@stards, they need to keep it simple, jeez. owning a gm made car is like having a closet full of legos and figuring out what peice to use next.
(edit: oh and almost forgot, if i do switch to the 1 peice x-member, and using the t-5 tranny, wouldnt it sit too low that what came out in it though?)
