Car: 1999 Chevy Cavalier
Engine: 2.2
Transmission: 5 speed
Axle/Gears: it's part of the transmission
does B&M "hot fluid" ATF work
bad enough they call it "hot fluid" but it also cost five bucks a quart. the words "hot" & "transmission" don't go together very well in my opinion.the label claims it has "friction additives" and other chemical goodies to keep the transmission running smooth. its recomended for use with their shift kits. I've always been skeptical of additives so I'm wondering if anyone else besides B&M recomend this stuff.

Actually B&M makes "Trick Shift", Hurst makes "Hot Shift". I used B&M's Trick Shift, didn't notice anything special. I agree with you for being skeptical of additives, however, the Trick Shift is supposedly Ford's "Type F" auto tranny fluid.
I hear that unless Ford added those friction modifiers to help their clutches grip, their clutches would burn up fast.
I used it with their shift improver kit (stage 2). When my trans died (torque convertor input flange cracked, cracked piece blocked pump, pump ran dry (damn pumps, second one to go dry on me!), trans burned up), I just put some Castrol trans fluid in. It was $2.50 instead of $5/quart, and I can always find it around town.
