How long will my tranny last with this much hp?

I had my tranny rebuilt and a transgo shift kit put in about 6 months ago. I am about to put a new engine in that's going to be pushing about 430 hp and 420 ftlbs of torque. What is going to cause my tranny to go out? What is going to give out and is there any way to prevent it? If I new that I was going to be doing this I would have bought a beafier tranny, but it's a little to late now .

Well I'm sure you dont expect any of us to tell you... 5 months, 3 days, and exactly 13 hours before it fails. BUT, with that much torque on a stock transmission, it probably wont last more then a few months, maybe a year and it all DEPENDS on how you drive. If you race every weekend or every week, then expect it to fail fairly early.

I'm in this same situation.. not quite as much power but over 300, is there anything we can do ourselves without taking it to a tranny shop to beef it up and make it last longer?
tranny cooler and guage?
will a vette servo help any?
(also im looking for a little more firm shift)

yes everything that prevent slippage helps

(generally speaking). The vette servo worked for me....got rid of 2-3 flare and also firmed up my 1-2 considerably and my car makes some pretty respectable horsepower.
Its the same engine hot rod built to make 375 horse at 5800 RPM and damn near 400ft lbs.

From: Monroe,LA,
thanks for the help I was just curious if I could get some use out of it before it left me stranded again. So if I put a corvette servo and a cooler I might be able to extend the life a little?
