Dana 44? How strong >>>

How much horsepower and torque can it handle?
SLP selling them for 1800, these are 10-bolt 8.5" rears, right. Could someone compare them to GM 12-bolts, and the pluses or minuses of each.

Axle/Gears: Ford 9"/31 spline spool/4.86
No they are Dana44 8.5 gears. Just because they have 10 bolts on the cover doesn't make them a GM 10 bolt.

They use 30 spline axles. The 12 bolt does also. The 12 bolt is 8.875 gears. The axles are not held in with c-clips like the 12 bolt but more like a ford 9" or ausi 9 bolt.

Like I mentioned in a previous post. For the cost of an SLP Dana44, I'd rather spend the couple of hundred more and get a 9".
