Long term storage of a new tranny

I've found a really good price on Art Carr trannies right now, but I don't really need it until at the earliest the end of August. Is there anything wrong with keeping a new tranny in storage for that extended period of time without fluid? Will it rust internally or anything like that?

i'm sure it has some assembly lube in it. just keep it sealed up and all the shipping plugs in place.
