3 700r4 questions

ok im going to be rebuilding my 700r4 and installing a reverse manual valvebody in it trans in 1984. engine will be around 400-450hp with 100-150 shot of nitrous when racing. first i know that a transgo kit is very good and fixs many problems with the trans but should i still install this when using a manual valve body? second i have heard both ways but do i need a tv cable or not with the manual valve body? and lastly should i go with lockup or non lockup converter? car is going to be mostly track only driven on the street to get to the track(about 18 miles to one, 35 to another and mayby once in awhile to work which is about 12 miles mostly highway for all of it) thanks in advance

Re: 3 700r4 questions

This won't really answer your questions but If I were you I wouldn't rebuild that trans. Pre-87 700-r4 are really weak. Before you do this I would strongly recommend finding a 87 or newer 700-r4 with a 30 spline input shaft and auxilary valve body instead of the pre 87 units w/27 spline input shaft. They are alot better.
