So i recently found out that my axle is indeed bent and i will need a new one. My mechanic down here said he cannot source any used ones, i have been in contact with the place i bought the rear end from about getting a new used axle, and Hawks. Ill be calling around local JYs and trying to find one but Just wondering, if i have to get a brand new axle where is the best place to get them from? My mechanic told me they are 400$ from chevy, and 300$ from moser for one. Seems pricey considering i paid about 400 for my whole rear end swap.
forgot to mention, i have a 4th gen 10 bolt from a lt1 car.
thanks
chris

axle shaft or whole rearend assembly??
for axle shaft, moser engineering.. you can get a pair from moser for under $40 shipped.. rearend would be junkyard..

I am getting ready to do mine. This is the company I am going to order my kit from. I am just getting into building camaros. Claim a 10yr no question asked warranty. http://www.drivetrainoutlet.com/Prod...Axle_Kits.html
i need the axle shaft, 40$ shipped maybe we are talking about different things, i have the axle tube, that is not bent, and every part of the rear end is good except the axle shaft. The part that slides into the axle tubes, also the part your wheel bearing rides on.
ill look into your site some more jphillis, thanks

Moser has axles for $220 or $230 I think. I would guess half of that for a single shaft.

Check Summit/Jegs for Moser and/or Superior.

I just purchased Mosers from Summit. Frankly, I would've bought Superiors if they had offered 26 spline. Their reputation seems quite good on the board, though I have no personal experience with them.

I bought the superior's from summit. At the time they had a backorder in which I was unaware of. Needless to say after waiting 2 months for my axles I was not impressed. I ordered the Evo-10-4 axles which where suppose to be a dual pattern axle. When I received them they were only single pattern. I called summit and they checked there stock and they were all single pattern also. Then I called superior and after waiting on hold for 10 minutes and then getting a call back later that day I was told due to the back order they pretty much rushed them out and didnt do the other lug style nor did they stamp a part # on the axles. So i paid for the the dual pattern axle and they pretty much sent me there cheaper stock replacement axle instead due to the backorder. Very poor buisness practices If you ask me.

I'd say that's cause of annoyance--and an unhappy customer. The Moser has both the screw-in and press-in type flanges. I had mine pressed in yesterday and was surprised: The machine shop only charged in $23 and change. This after another shop had suggested $80.

Has nothing to due with annoyance and yes I was unhappy because I paid an extra $70 for something i never got. I got the axles before I called both vendors, there poor judgement has nothing to do with my attitude after i had purchased and received my axles.Originally Posted by JamesC
