t56 swap and reverse lock out
i'm at the end of my swap now and i'm waiting for my dakota digital and vss sensor plug. Do i need to do any thing with the reverse lock out? Or can i just wire up wiring to the parking brake so i can't open my hatch at 60 mph?

I'd hook the reverse lockout up at least. Makes it easier to shift into reverse when you want to. I mean, why not?

Re: t56 swap and reverse lock out
i bought my car with a t56, no reverse lockout was hooked up, i though it would be nice to have, put it on a seperat switch, but never used it because its not hard to push past the soliniod, and wiring it to the brake switch is different i know, but i kind of like having to push past the solinoid, lets me know im IN reverse, and its impossible to hit reverse instead of 5th. well thats my 2 cents

If you plan to wire up the reverse lockout, do it now, or you'll never get to it later.
It can get a lil annoying fighting the solenoid, but i dont mind it. Its not too bad.

Pushing past the spring is a little tougher then these guys are telling you, what I did was take the unit apart and cut a coil off the spring. Could have been coil and a half you would have search my previous post on this years ago but just make sure not to cut off to much or it will be to soft. After this is done you will be able to shift it without using two hands

right now as it sits with out the engine running will this be as hard as it gets to put the tranny in reverse?
If so i can deal with it now.

Why not just hook 12v to it? I don't understand why so many people are not hooking it up. It's not like it makes you less of a he-man to power up the lockout solenoid. Takes all of 10 minutes to wire into the brake light switch or something similar.

Yes, hooking it up to the brake light switch at the brake pedal is what I recommend.
