Yes they work. They increase the fluid capacity, they make the rear opening stronger since the cast aluminum is stronger than the stamped tin. The bolts that go against the pinion caps are only torqued to 5 pounds. When you accellerate the pinion wants to push the ring gear out the back of the diff. The bearing caps hold it in. With the added reinforcment of the cover bolts, there's less chance of the gears failing. It just reduces the stress on the bearing cap bolts.

you can gain some extra strength by welding the axle tubes to the center section as well.

I have the LPW and I have the braces for the LPW. This is the best cover on the market that I know of. We'll see how long it lasts after I finish my most recent upgrades. This rearend held up fine with the 2800 stall Vigilante and 1.7x short times. We'll see how it holds up to the 3600 stall and probably 1.6x short times

Gunning for NA 11's with bigger cam, bigger stall, and bigger exhaust.

Got enough jack stands under that car?

I'll put my diff to the real test this spring with the new big block. I never really got to test it with the small block. I blew up the engine the first weekend after I installed the diff.

Are the brace kits generic or is there a kit specific to third gen? I know that mount on the right side will get in the way to install the brace to the end of the axle. It's hard to tell from the pic exactly where it's mounting to.
