Fair Price?
I got a line on a 700R4 from a 84 Z-28.
The guy wants $475 for the tranny,driveshaft and crossmember. (Not sure if torque converter is included or not.)
Does this seem like a fair price?
Seems kinda steep to me, but last time I went tranny hunting was about 20 years ago when $40 for a used Turbo-400 was about right.
Can the older 700R4's be beefed-up to be comparable to the 88&up models?
How expensive is it to rebuild if I do it myself?
350 HP is probably the most it will ever see.
