on my trans there was a reverse light sensor that had a 2 prong plug. I wasnt sure which wire it was either so i tested them all until one of the wires worked! test em!

so I just need to find the wires from the auto backup lights and hook them to the prong on the t5? That sounds easy enough. Thanks Kevin

yea basically if u look on the backup sensor there is a two prong connector which u need to get. I saw one at pepboys for 3 bucks then splice the wires into that.

The connector on the t-5 that is for the backup lights is the one near the center of the tranny, not the one on the tailhousing. If you have the undercar harness from the t-5, the wires for the backup plug should be blue and green. Also there should be yellow and pink, those are for the VSS. In the car, the wires you want to splice into are blue and green, and can be found in the connector that plugged into the auto tranny shifter switch. This switch controlled the neutral/park start interlock, as well as the backup lights. There are also two other small guage wires in the connector that I'm not sure what they do.

Hope this helps, just did the VSS and backup wiring for my tranny/engine swap tonight.

I wonder what those wires are for....so the ECM knows when it's in P or N??? I believe they followed the same pattern as the thick P-N wires when I took the switch apart. I creatively moddified my old TCC plug into the prong for the reverse lights for the hardtop....that reminds me I still need to put reverse lights on the T-top car.
