Where should they be for drag race performance?

TPI cars generally like to shift in the ballpark of 5000 rpms with a 700R-4, and that depends some on the air temperature. They like to go higher RPM with very cold air.
Also they generally like to be shifted out of first gear at approx 500 rpms higher than the 2nd-to-3rd shift because of the difference in gear spread in the 700R.

This should get you close, but each car is a little different. Best way is to experiment using a G-tech or vericom to see what the car likes.

Crack-runs 10.3 @135

I would have to say that a TPI (stock) runs out of breath around 4500, so that would be a better shift point.

For daily, I have mine set around 3300 and it will go up to 5200 when I punch it. My engine runs out of steam about 5300 too.
