still learning how to use the searches on this and found what I need

sounds like a vent tube
Double check this first because in not totally sure, but on the passengerside of the trans there is a threaded plug that you remove to add the fluid. There apparently is another threaded plug looking thing on the trans that holds internal parts together, remove it and your f-ed and have to pull the trans, i believe this plug is on the driverside but im not a 100% on that.

DO NOT remove the torx bolt on the driver side. If you do you will definitely regret it.
The fill/drain plugs are both on the passengers side of the car.
