Grinding into second

My T-5 grinds when I go into second, the dealer said something about the clutch, but a friend of mine who has had a few 3rg gen camaros says that it is the linkage. What do you guys think... Lemme know...

My T5 was grinding going into 2nd gear, and it was the 2nd gear itself, and the 2nd gear synchros that needed to be replaced.

About how much did it cost to fix it?

I'm not a good person to ask, as my dad is a mechanic and I get cheap labor and parts for his cost. I'd say its expensive tho, especially if they have to pull the trans. If you pull it and bring it to them, you'd save a lot of the cost.

How could the linkage or clutch effect 2nd but not any of the other gears? Both of those problems would effect all the gears. I think your problem is the 2nd gear synchro.
