I have a 89 with the 10 bolt. I bought a HD torsen Posi, Richmond 3.73 gears and install kit and new axles. The local chevy dealer quoted 5.somthing hours of labor to set up the rear for a borg warner. they quoted 3.somthing hours for another rearend ( I dont remember the name of it) but it is a rear our cars have.
Is the 10 bolt a borgwarner or is it the rearend that would only take 3.somthing hours to swap?

 

The Borg Warner is the "9-bolt"
The Saginaw is the "10-bolt"

Great thanks Thats the reply I hoped for. I told the dealer I thought it was the borg warner. for 5.somthing hours of labor was $250 The saginaw was 3.somthing hours So it should be cheaper. I Planed on spending 250 but it looks like Ill be able to keep some in my pocket
