Is the T-5 history, replace or rebuild?

When the tranny is cold, it is impossible to shift into second gear. When it is warm, I can shift into second with some effort. It isn't grinding though. Should I rebuild it or find another one. Mine is the original and it isn't world class. What are your suggestions?

Thanks guys

I suggest rebuilding it. If you have some mechanical experience, tools and dont mind a little down-time with the car its the best way to go. If you need help, there are plenty on this board with good answers.

I'm with Mike... that sounds like a clutch problem to me. It's almost impossible for a trans to make itself hard to shift. If it's hard to get into 1st gear while sitting still, that also indicates a clutch failing to release.

The clutch is only about four months old and I replaced the mechanical clutch arm and bearings when I did the clutch. I know what a worn clutch feels like. I guess I will have to go with a T56 huh,
