I have it and I love it! I also have the Darrel Young Monster valve (the "big" one) and it's a bit bigger than the one that came w/ the SLP kit. I don't know how much that affects things
Shifts are lightning fast with the shift kit. Not neck snapping harsh, just fast! It's great. Absolutely no problems with it at all.
This is also the only shift kit I have ever had. So I can't compare it to the others. But I have had people in my car and they like it
I have ridden in Willie's car and I am not sure what shift kit he has, but his definately snaps your neck even at low RPMs.
Hope that helps you some

Well, i have the B&M kit. It shifts hard. I've had it about 5 years now, and my only complaint is in wet weather. It had a tendancy to break the tires loose just at part throttle. I've been in Dirk's car and my B&M is alot harsher then his SLP, but he has a higher stall TC which softens the shifts, so a bit difficult to compare.

I have the SLP shift kit. It chirps em at full throttle. At part throttle nice and firm. A excelent shift kit for the money (under $100).

Do either of these kits allow you to change the shift points? Say up from 4600 to 5200?

I pulled my tranny out because I put in a new torque converter so I had all the clearance I wanted.
All in all I'd say maybe 2 or 3 hours to do everything. I had fun taking off the snap rings on the servo cover and the boost valve. It's not a hard job, you just have to have patience becuase everything is slick w/ tranny fluid.
Well worth the time and money!

I've had SLP's shift kit in my car for about 4 years. No problems. Firm, but not too firm. Their instructions are very detailed (about 15-18 pages) vs some other shift kit instructions . As long as you can get the car up high enough to allow crawling room, the install goes pretty easy. 3-4 hours avaerage, some more, some less.
I had a TCI kit in my other 700 in my blazer, and 1-2 is a little too harsh for the 4x4 drivetrain, but 2-3 & 3-4 are too soft. This is with vette sefvo kit etc.
Bottom line is I agree with those liking the SLP kit.

Do you have to install the servo when you do the SLP shift kit (does it even come w/ it, or are you guys adding your own.) I want to put a shift kit in, but sure as hell don't feel like dropping the tranny to get to the servo (and i'm not using the BFH on my verts floor.) So if the SLP is OK w/o the servo then i'll buy yours chris.
