Aluminium driveshaft....

Where can I get a balanced aluminium driveshaft to fit my 92 RS, 305 TBI, A4? I REALLY need one, my car shakes at 70mph like a heroin addict going through withdrawals!

if you drive shaft is bad get it fixed, if you just think it's bad keep looking untill you find your problem. have you chacked trans mount, alignment, tire balance, bent wheels, u joints, and even a miss in the engine?

Tranny and mount are fairly new, car was aligned 2 weeks ago, brand new tires, front and rear. Wheels are balanced. The engine is running good, so I dont think that is the cause. I would rather just replace the whole driveshaft instead of just the u-joints. Thanks

If you are sure this is the problem, I would buy a good used one from a junk-yard and take it to NAPA(or other shop) and have them balance it.

To answer your question, TPIS makes an aluminum driveshaft as well as Lingenfelter. I think SLP also had one, and I've read on this board that the new LS1 driveshafts fit our cars, but I have no personal knowledge about that.
