93-driveshaft aluminium?

Is it aluminium? Can the alu-one get rust on the surface? And does it fit in my 89 iroc?
Thanks?

the aluminum one should have a dull silver finish not rust ,check it with a magnet. a magnet won't stick if it isn't steel. yes a 3rd and 4th gen drive shaft are the same.

Most 93 F-bodies have steel driveshafts. I think only the 1LE's would be aluminum.

'93-'97 4th gens all came from the factory with steel drive shafts. You may find some that were fixed by a dealer under a factory TSB for a vibrating DS, the part installed was the aluminum 3rd gen 1le DS...

Aluminum driveshaft is JG1, not JU1.

I've had an aluminum drive shaft in my car forever. No rust.

The new one from GM Performance Parts
costs 260$, so I´ll go with that....
They say that the alu- driveshaft goes with the MM6 trans so I hope that it will fit my 700 trans. Well it looks like everybody say
it will fit.....
Thanks
