Clutch Expert needed!! Tranny noise too.
So I have a TKO 500 I had a couple problems with the clutch disengaging and now i have a mcleaud master adj. This seemed to fix the problem but on my last two drives the clutch pedal stuck to the floor once and now if I hold it down too long it engages and i cant get it out of the gear I'm in. It seems like i am loosing pressure in the clutch line/pedal because when it engages on the floor it almost doesn't want to come up. I have to turn off the car to get it out of gear.
Second problem
Fifth gear is real noisy compared to the rest of the gears. If im in 4th cruising then shift to fifth going about the same speed it is really noisy. It is like a noise in the rear when the gears are not shimmed right.
Any thought's
Thanks Chris

Re: Clutch Expert needed!! Tranny noise too.
When I first start the car it runs fine. After i move it though, i cant get it out of gear and it is constantly engaged. I have the master cyl all the way out on the adj. is it possible that im over extending it? Would this cause it to reengage after disengaging? This just started happening really. I was driving about an hour and it happened at a light and then it kept happening more and more. It seems to happen at low speeds when i have the clutch in for the most amount of time.
Any help please!!!!

Probably fifth gear overdriven? and lugging a heavy car around. making a beg for mercy noise. Does the noise lessen when the engine isn't being babied around? You probably shouldn't shift to fifth so soon and make the trans cry. The clutch problem sounds complicated. Do you have a good return spring on the pedal because it should return no matter what because there is no pressure on the return stroke of the slave and highly unlikely that the pressure plate could possibly get stuck when the pedal is down for a long time. Pressure systems are difficult once modified and can be a bear to bleed and adjust but that sounds like all that it is. Note: if it's bled good the slave will push back some and give the pedal feel that you need if it is adjusted properly. I've used a pry bar in between the pressure plate and release bearing to assist in bleeding the system-just pry back and forth and more air will come out of master cylinder if your bell allows a pry bar to fit. I've also used a pressurized brake bleeder to push brake fluid through the bleeder and find this works if all else fails. BLEED AND ADJUST>
